Aishwarya Rai born November 1, 1973. She was born in Mangalore Karnataka, India to Krishnaraj Rai, a marine biologist, and Vrinda Rai, a writer. Her family belongs to the Bunt community of Mangalore. She has one elder brother, Aditya Rai, who is an engineer in the merchant navy and also co-produced one of Rai's movies, Dil Ka Rishta (2003).

After she was born, her parents moved to Mumbai where she attended the Arya Vidya Mandir high school in Santa Cruz. Rai then entered Jai Hind College at Churchgate for one year, and then moved to Ruparel College in Matunga to finish her "HSC" studies. She did well in school and planned to become an architect.

She can communicate in several languages, including Tulu, Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil .While pursuing her studies in architecture, Rai began modeling on the side. In the 1994 Miss India contest, she won the second place (behind Sushmita Sen), and went on to win the Miss World title the same year, where she also won the Miss Photogenic award. She abandoned her studies after winning the pageant and spent one year reigning as Miss World in London. Abhishek Bachan is So Excited and Unable to Sleep

New Delhi: Bollywood star Abhishek thanked his friends and fans for their best wishes on the birth of his first child Wednesday. He says the mother, actress Aishwarya Rai, and the baby girl are doing fine and resting.

"Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. Both Aishwarya and the baby are doing great and taking some much needed rest," Abhishek posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Aishwarya gave birth to her first child Wednesday morning at a private hospital in Mumbai. Congratulatory messages for the parents, and grandparents - Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, poured in soon after Abhishek announced ""IT`S A GIRL!!!!!! :-)))))" on micro-blogging Twitter.

Ash was admitted to the hospital Monday night for delivery, and Abhishek has been by her side all the time. 

He is so excited that he is unable to sleep.

"And I`m trying my level best to get rid of this caffeine high and get some sleep too. Don`t think it`ll work. TOO EXCITED!!!!" added the proud father, who always wished to have a daughter.

Rai Baby's Name Should Start with K

Based on her numbers, numerologist reveals the personality traits of the newborn in Bachchan family and suggests her name should start with K.

Its celebration time in Bachchan household with the arrival of the new member in their family.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered a baby girl today, November 16, 2011.

Like any other well-wisher of Amitabh Bachchan and his family, which practically comprises the whole of country today, numerologist Bhavikk Sanghvi is as much elated and conveys his best regards to the proud parents and grandparents. He was perhaps the only numerologist who had predicted that it would be a baby girl for Abhi-Ash.

"The girl is born on 16 which makes her number 7 (Ketu) person that is ruled by number 2 (moon). Her sun-sign is Scorpio - number 9 ( Mars). Her destiny number is 4 (Rahu) ", says Bhavikk revealing all the numbers associated with the newborn. "Her rashi is Mithun and so her name should ideally start with the alphabet 'k'".

"Her ascendant is Sagittarius (Dhanu) so by personality she should be a sensitive child always in need of love", he adds. Needless to say, she will be pampered by the Bachchans. "I would advice the parents to make her wear gomed (hessonite) after five years of age. As far as her career is concerned, she should be good at creative, media or artistic field like her parents". 

"She has a fantastic travel line and should be lucky in terms of property investment. However she should avoid any partnership business", signs off Bhavikk.

Aishwarya Baby Girl Delivery

Mumbai: Bollywood’s light-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai on Monday for the birth of her firstborn, has delivered a baby girl on Wednesday.

Abhishek Bachchan broke the news to the world on Twitter as he tweeted: 'IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :-)))))'. While grandfather Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !”

Hospital sources said the delivery was normal and came a few minutes before 10 a.m. The Bachchan and Rai families were present for the momentous occasion.

Aishwarya, 38, developed labour pains around 4 a.m. and was taken to the labour room where the delivery took place after nearly six hours.

The actress is on the fifth floor of the luxury private hospital in Andheri east.

The hospital had booked three rooms on the floor -- one for Aishwarya, the other for the Bachchan family and the third for the Rai family. The entire floor was kept out of bounds for all except the two families.

The hospital has been under tight security for the past three days in expectation of the youngest member of the Bachchan family.

Aishwarya was admitted to the hospital Monday night, according to her spokesperson.

The Bachchan family had been waiting for the baby's arrival for a few days and preparing for the child's welcome. 

The girl is Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's third grandchild, after Agastya and Navya Naveli -- children of his daughter Shweta and son-in-law Nikhil Nanda.

Aishwarya tied the knot with Abhishek in April 2007 and rumours about her pregnancy had been doing the rounds ever since. 

In June this year, when Amitabh announced her pregnancy through Twitter, it grabbed the headlines. 

A 10-point advisory by the Broadcast Editor's Association (BEA) reportedly asked TV channel heads to curtail media coverage regarding the high-profile delivery of Aishwarya baby girl.
